Online vs. Offline Analysis

Online analysis is the measurement of material characteristics in real-time. ETI's analyzer products use a no-contact non-destructive process to provide real-time analysis of 100% of the material as it passes through the analyzer. With real-time analysis, results can be used to control the sorting, blending, stockpile management, and other quality control measures during material processing.

Offline analysis is the measuring of material with delayed results. This involves collecting samples using on-belt sampling systems, material crushers, manual collection of the final sample, and laboratory analysis. This process can take hours and sometimes days before material analysis is complete, rendering offline analysis useless in process control situations where real-time decisions must be made.

Laboratory analysis remains useful as a way to confirm the accuracy of the ETI Analyzer.
