The Model 600 Process Control Analyzer measures ash, weight, heating value, and moisture content in coal and other bulk materials such as wood chips.
The device consists of a source and detector assembly mounted across a conveyor belt, where it performs no-contact non-destructive analysis in real-time as the material passes through. The detector is connected to an electronics enclosure housing an industrial computer which processes the detector signals and displays the measured results to the operator.
The Analyzer generates measurements every three seconds and averages the readings to produce ash, weight, heating value, and moisture values every minute. These values are made available to plant control systems through direct access to the system database or through analog and digital outputs provided with the system. The data can be used to sort materials by quality or to blend material to a desired quality.
